Hi,
I am working at the concept stage of a project and for several reasons it would be ideal to locate CO2 Removal Membranes between stages of a centrifugal conpressor on a common drive.
The concern I have is complexity around starting up this process… in a ideal world I would have separate drivers so I can start stage 1, then establish on spec gas from the membranes followed by starting stage 2. Stage 2 will discharge into the export pipeline so being on spec is critical.
Some additional info to consider is the membranes will be started under an automatic sequence, which takes some time as it involves warm-up and slowly dropping the permeate pressure in stages. I.e to make this work I’ll need some kind of bypass to at least get the compressor running.
Does anyone have any experience locating a CO2 removal membrane package between two stages of a compressor with a common driver?
