Hi everyone,

I am working on checking the Pressure Relief Device Calculation and Generating Datasheet for the PSV in the attached file PSV-212 and PSV-312?

Take an example for PSV-212, where the existing model is Swagelok (D and Orange).

Is there calculation procedure or guideline for me to do the calculation to check the required and rated capacity of the PSVs?

As per API 6D Guideline, these two PSV will serve as Valve Cavity pressure relief. However, I more than happy if you could please give me some more insight into the calculation required.

Many thanks,

Attached is an old API RP 521 section that provides equation and guidance for thermal relief valve sizing.  To be conservative you could take the maximum solar radiation for the area your valve is located can be used to calculate "H" in the calculation.
