As to filling error, idk. It seems it would be an unplanned event that would have to be handled separately based on the contents.

Isolate the leaking container. Absorb or divert any liquid runoff to a safe location. Transfer liquid contents to a non-leaking container. Clean leaking container. Evaluate leaking container for repair.
If you have a petroleum mixture that does not meet original product specs, then determine the degraded specs. You might possibly blend the liquid with on-spec fuel or sell the liquid waste to someone who can use it as boiler fuel or as refinery feedstock.
Forty years ago, I used to add about 5% diesel to my Camaro when filling it with gasoline. The car's engine ran quieter and smoother but was sometimes difficult to start.
