Hello everyone,
Could you please share with me any document or your help with sizing a condensate return vessel?
Liquid condensate mass flow rate (kg/s) = mass flow rate (kg/h) ÷ 3600
Required mass stored (kg)= mass flow rate (kg/s) × retention time (s)
Vessel volume (m³) = mass stored (kg) ÷ liquid condensate density (kg/m³)
Returned vessel diameter can be obtained from vessel volume with supposing a height for the vessel...
Note: Typical retention time for normal service is 5-10 minutes

I think you got your answer.
t=V/F, t time, V useful volume, F flow rate

Thank you both for your responses. I have a question regarding steam condensate lines: if I have two streams at different pressures—7 barg and 3 barg—feeding into a common condensate vessel, are these typically combined before entering the vessel, or should they be routed separately?
Additionally, should I consider the possibility of flashing within the vessel?

you should separate the lines otherwise it will affect the flows to the tank. Yes, flash will occur in the pot.
