Dear community,

I am struggling to find the way to calculate the heat of dilution of a certain amount of hydrogen chloride (gas) in an hydrochloric acid solution (30%mass).

I have found ressouces online which provide the enthalpy (heat) of dilution to infinite dilution for aqueous solutions of HCl. But for me it does not correspond exactly to my problem.

Any suggestions ?

Thank you in advance.

Hi ,

Consider this resource :

Absorption of HCl_e1.indd

very much exothermic / required specific equipment to handle this exotherm .

EDIT : I've attached an extract from a document issued by Krebs Paris, should not be a problem for you to read it. Heat generated at different concentration .
