There are number of evaporators for different type of operations like falling film, risin film,rising/falling film, natural or forced evaporators and more.

My question are

1.Any of them can use for multiple effect

2.Can we arrange two different type of evaporators in series to get multiple effect

3.Can we arrange evaporators in parallel to get same desired results as obtained by series arrangement.

Hello,

For our Chemical Engineering Lab we had a double effect evaporator. It can be used for both single effect and double effect and it can also be used with forced or natural convection. I don't see why you wouldn't be able to arrange two different kinds of evaporators in series to get a multiple effect. I'm not sure about evaporators in parallel. I'm mainly only seen them in series. I would expect that the series parallel question would be relative to heat exchangers and reactors in parallel.

Hope that helps you out,
Chemsep
