I need help sizing a steam line. the source of steam is from a tank operating under pressure. the steam is flashing from the tank. the tank pressure can be varied. typical pressures at which steam is flashing is between 25 - 50 psig. and temp from 130 C to 147 C
i need to design a steam line to support flows up to 12000 lb/hr at the lowest pressure of 25 psig. and flows of up to 9500 lb/hr at the intended operating pressure of the tank of 35 psig.
the estimated pipe length where the steam to be delivered is about 600 ft.
i need help in choosing the best pipe size that can operate at the above operating conditions.
what method can i use to determine the best pipe size?
