Hi Hari...D,

Why don't you tell us your own experience/problem and let's see if we can help.
Without any experience, I can say that if you have a vacuum, you can expect mechanical collapse(compression) of the vessel.

I faced a problem in ejector side. We use water jet ejectors boosted with steam ejector. If the ejector is boosted for more than one hour water in the tank will get heated up and the vacuum will drop frequently (even cooling water is circulated through the inner coil). Hence booster is recommendable only during evacuation at the beginning hours. After that we can stop boosting with steam. I can share some more problems sooner.

Regards,
D.Hariharasudhan.

Hi aluma,
you have mentioned that there will be mechanical collapse of the vessel, under vacuum. But most of the vessels will be designed starting from full vacuum to the desired design pressure.
Thanks & regards,
D.Hariharasudhan.
