Dear All,
What does the term "spurious blowdown" mean, in comparison with "Fire blowdown" and "Cold blowdown"?
What is its importance and application? And how does the calculation should be done?
Cheers.

A spurious blowdown is an unwanted, unnecessary blowdown. It means that the blowdown valves open when there is no need for it, caused by some system error...

So the importance is that it should be avoided as much as possible and there is no application (by definition).

The term spurious is more often used the combination "spurious trip", sometimes called "nuisance trip".
