hello friends,
i am simulating a crude refinery case, everything thing is fine but i have stuck up with crude desalter i dont no how to define it. i am charging 1139t/hr crude at 40deg after passing it through heater it gets heated upto 133 deg and 15kg pressure then a desalter is present D/S of heater where i m charging 70t/hr water 40deg and removing brine 78t/hr at 40 deg and 5kg pressure. please guys help me in installing desalter.

blink.gif So what is your question? What doesn't work in your simulation, or don't you get the results that you expected? Please be more specific, specify compositions, temperatures, pressures, flow rates, preferably a sketch of your system, how did you simulate it (what unit operations did you use) and what is your specific question?

Try using a 3-phase separator. Hysys will require you to attach a vapor stream, but its flow rate will be zero.

I have not seen a crude distillation column with 76 trays.
Maximum 45 trays is sufficient to do the job.
Please verify your data.
