Hello All,
I am a 3rd year chem eng student, I just started doing my experiential year and I was given the task of improving a water processing plant for a a chemical operations and instrumentation traning facility. One of the tasks is to design a Chemical dosing system and find out the best part of the plant to install it in, I am completely new to this and I do not know where and how to start. One of the chemicals being used is sodium hypochloride. Can please someone help me?
What I need is someone to help with some guidelines, things to take into consideration, books to consult, past experience and anything that could help me in putting together this system and accomplish what was asked from me.
Please any help is welcome.
Many thanks,
Fransueldo

You can Google "chemical dosing pump(s)", "chemical metering pumps" and "industrial water treatment". I suggest you also check out Cole-Palmer's site; www.cole-palmer.com.
You can also contact a number of water treatment companys such as GE Water and Process Technlogies at http://www.gewater.com/index.jsp
You want the pump in a place where you can guarantee good mixing after injection. After that I don't think it matters where the pump is located.
