[font="Garamond"]I am new in HYSYS world. I know little bit Aspentech simulation for steady state. Recently, I came across HYSYS 3.2 & find very nteresting and user friendly. However, I tied to build a model for a hydrocarbon system (diesel). I have only sp.gr., ASTM and total flow rate for the stream. I could not succeed to define the feed specification in the model. Whenever, I define assay, it breaks in various pseudocomponents (as usual) & surprisingly, ask for flowrate of individual components which is not available. I have only the total flowrate of the stream not the component wise. I seek any assistance for experts on the problem I'm facing. May be it appears a silly things but I’m really stuck at this point. Please help. Thanx.

That's quite strange because flowrates of both assay(s) and blends defined within Oil Environment are set on a bulk basis - whether it is mass, molar, or liquid volume. I have never seen such case you experienced. This can happen only if you have set of pseudocomponents generated in Basis Environment as Hypothetical Group(s) - then you would have to define mole/weight/volume fractions (or flows) of each one of them in the main flowsheet.

Can you upload your file for easier understanding?

Hi, I know it's been awhile since you posted it. Did you resolve this?
