We decided to design a Flare Gas Recovery System for a refinery. The flare gas includes:

Component H2 C1 C2 C3 C+4 H2S
Mol% 43 10 30 2 10 5
Temperature 80°C
Pressure 1 bar
Flow 630 kg/hr

A flare gas recovery system has been designed but we need to seperate H2 from the recovered gas. Would you please advise me how I can separate hydrogen economically from this stream?

Thanx

Hi Rahimi

Try PSA system. It is simple. But your pressure is 1 Bar, which is too low for PSA system. You need to boost the Pressure to a Minimum of 8 Bar or so.
Also you need to Condense and Remove All Mosture before it enters PSA system.

Good Luck
