Hello all,

I want to know if 35# condensate from a heat exchanger returing after a trap can be routed to another heat exchanger operating @ 150/175 # operating pressure using gravity flow.

Also I would like to know if anyone has any material on sizing the condensate return lines.

Hi Bios16,
Though unable to help you ... but I guess - the following quoted text would help someone seeking you an answer.
Thanks,

Hi,
I need to size condensate lines: I have 35 psig steam @ 150 deg C flowing through a 2"line (~1700 lb/hr) condensing in a plate and frame. The condensate is flowing out through a thermostatic steam trap to atmosphere. I need to size the condensate line coming from the HE to the trap and the line going to the trench.

Also another condenstae line having the same conditions joins this before going to the process trench. Please let me know if there any material. I have solved the problem almost 3/4 through. I found a condenstate line sizing chart. But I just want to verify my cals. Thanks

Search for the web sites of Armstrong Steam and Spirax-Sarco. They both have good technical information available. Or call in your local representative of either of these companies. They will most likely be happy to help, or to provide you with helpful literature.
