Hi All,
Hopefully you are all in good health so that we can continue benefiting from this very good forum rolleyes.gif .
I am new to Oil and Gas processing.
Somebody told me that for dual mechanical seal, the venting point from the buffer fluid tank should be connected to flare system.
Anyhow, I couldn't find the code/standards that requires that.
Hopefully there is somebody here could help e to look for this specific requirements. Thank you.

Paktongkoi,

I assume you are referring to API pumps mechanical seal flush systems.
Please see API 682, specifically Seal Plan 52, Page 170 in 2004 Edition. It is mentioned a vapor recovery system. Flare can be "a vapor recovery system" in some cases if you don't have a dedicated one. Anyways you have to vent somewhere, depending on what kind of buffer and pumped fluids you are using.

Regards
