I am in the process of designing a Falling Film Evaporator to concentrate sugar solutions.
I am reading conflicting information concerning the minimum wetting rate and other design condiderations.
Doe anyone has a good source in order to find information concerning these issues?

Evaporation wetting rate is decided based on the fluid characteristics like Viscosity , Density and surface tension etc . Wetting rate affects tube side Heat transfer coeficient and pressure drop drastically.
In industry, this information is proprietary so that people use experimental data for design purpose.
