hello my friends

i hope u r ok

please could u help me in this mater

i have pipline with 15 km lengh , 38" diameter

i want to depressurize this line and through two valves and I need to calculate time required for this process
i need ur help

Hi,

what is in the pipe ?

can you put a sketch as to know if there are low points / high points, valve locations ?

which flow-sheet software are you using ? Are you doing manual calculations ?

you need to give more data here. overall with Hysys / Pro II there is a depressuing utility which can be used, specify the volume, total depressuing valve area or cv and it will calculate the time in addition to other important factors such as max velocity / lowest temperature.

there are many good posts here and over eng-tips.com
