Can we use spent caustic in our crude distillation unit overhead system as neutralizing agent is it applicable to do that ?? Can you suggest that how we re use this spent caustic and what is the process for reuseing the spent caustic and how can we able to make the spent caustic for re use.

You don't want to use caustic in CDU overhead - ammonia or neutralizers should be used instead.
Caustic can be used upstream/downstream of desalter, depending on quality (sulfidic caustic can be used with no harm; FCC spent caustic cannot be used).
Some refiners restric the use of NaOH in the preheat train due to caustic embrittlement or catalyst poisoning in Residue processing units.

Another option is to neutralize it and dispose it in a safe manner. Visit Merichem website for more information.
