My warm Greetings to all !

We are handling a Grass root refinery consisting of CDU/VDU ,Petro FCC,VGO-HDT,HGU,MS block ,DCU and other small Units.

while working for Start up facility of MS Block Unit i.e. NHT,CCR and Isom (licensor Axens) we have decided to start CCR first with sweet Naphtha sourced from outside then after getting Hydrogen from CCR we will line up NHT with Stored Naphtha sources from CDU/VDU Tankage and then put ISOM on line after NHT.

we are doing this because licensor has put restrictions on processing Cold Naphtha (temp 40 deg c ) as startup feed for CCR and Isom.

The reason they states is that there are problems due to Gum formation in stored naphtha and slipage of oxygen in the storage tanks even if they are blanketed with Nitrogen.

i would like to know what are the practices prevailing for startup of these Units and if no MS block unit has been started with Cold Naphtha Temp 40 deg c.
