Hello, I'm from Brazil and I would like to get some books about Delayed Coking Units(to do some simulations). I have found two books "Refinery Process Modelling" (steady state simulation) and "Refinery Process Modelling: Sample Problem 4[delayed coking]" for sale at Amazon.com. The first one has a small review at the Amazon while the second one doesn't and that makes impossible to compare them. Does Anyone know this books ??

The first text is a more general resource - very valuable. The sample problems are specific case studies that build on the book. The sample problem will not make sense without the text book.

Hi,
Delayer coker simulations mainly te reactions sections you need lots of data. With a commerical simulator you can model the main fractionator and the gas concentarion unit. An I am sure even any of these book contains the tuorials for delayed coker this will merely solve the purpose of the learning to model the coker unit.

P.S.- Delayed coker is licensed unit so unless having the kinetcis and supporting thermodynamics you can not model with an comerecial simulators like KBC petrosim where there might be the reactor models available. For learing it is always welcome to go through the text and replicate the inputs in a simulator.
