Bleed rings are frequently used offshore and in situations where space and/or weight may be problems. The bleed ring substitutes for a (very short) pipe spool with a coupling added. Having one would be useful for testing PSV's, including ones for thermal relief, by allowing the applying of a high pressure test gas.
