What is the criteria to decide if vent from a tank can be routed to atmosphere ? Is it different for ISBL and OSBL tanks ? What would you recommend for a tank containing styrene+ethylbenzene and why ?

Dear streamt Hello/Good Afternoon,

I believe this is not a very simple and straightforward query to reply,you must appreciate since;

Local and any applicable epa(environmental Protection Agency/Authority) rules,regulations laws will be binding.

Secondly the vented material i.e.styrene+ ethyl ethyl benzene & associated solvent vapors should give you some idea on any Hazards of Fire or Humans Safety Related;
thus needs for appropriate disposal system for vented material may be needed.

Thirdly you should try to carry out a proper/ thorough "HAZOP','What-If' analysis for the possible consequential Risk requiring Due Coverage.

Hope this provides clues for your help and way forward.
