If the very motive of Restriction Orifice insertion is to restrict flow(within certain limiting parameters);then what is the further discussion's requirements;if any?

You push me to show this simple issue by an example:

Case 1 Before putting the RO in a specified line with gas passing inside: Suppose Volumetric flowrate is 100 cubic meter per hour

Case 2 After putting the RO:Then Volumetric flowrate before/after RO would be e.g. 60/70 cubic meter per hour

As you can see the flowrate after putting the RO (Case 2) decreased with respect to Case 1 (i.e. 100---->60).It is observed even though the flowrate after RO in case 2 increased,still remained lower than the flowrate before putting the RO.

Of course,mass flowrate in Case 2 is decreased as well.

To prevent too great a differential pressure across the main valve
