hi guys,

Dear,
IBR code is for Boilers, which also describes the safety measures for boilers.
You have to find the relieving capacity for different scenarios as per you would do for normal cases, and find the Area requied by using below equations.
For saturated steam, as per Equation 78 of IBR-293
E=C*A*P,
where E is rated discharge capacity of saturated steam (kg/hr),
P is the relieving pressure (bar a),
A is the orifice area of safety valve(mm2)
C is a constant which changes as per lift.
Type of valve -- Value of C
Ordinary lift -- 0.05
High lift -- 0.10
Full lift -- 0.24

For superheated steam, as per Eqn. 79 of IBR-293
Es = E/(sqrt(1+2.7 Ts)/10000)
where Es is rated discharge capacity of superheated steam (kg/hr)
Ts is the degree of superheat, deg C.

Hope this helps
Regard,
Pavan
