Dear all,

Calculation of pump NPSH is very critical in plant design. Many of us struggle a lot to calculate the value. There are many programs available on the internet to calculate the same. We have developed this small Excel sheet based on the basic formula of NPSH. We thought to develop this sheet and dedicate it to the service of the engineering community. This sheet can be downloaded and used by anyone free. Please let us know any improvements required in the sheet so that we can discuss and implement.

Best Regards.

I need to pump liquid from a tank which is connected to vacuum pump at the top. Vacuum gauge will read around 680 mm of Hg. What should i enter at "Vapour pressure at maximum pumping temperature"? I shall be using a centrifugal pump to pump the water around 45 degC.

Thank you.

Bharat,

overhead pressure of 650 MMHG is used in tank/vessel static head calculations. Vapor pressure depends on the vessel contents temperature.

Thank YOU

Cell C18 appears to include the addition of the NPSH margin even though it is labelled "NPSHa without margin".
