Dear All,

I am planning to extract ginger oil by using Co2 supercritical fluid.
The operating condition is 65 F and 127 psia.
Could someone help me how to design the extractor? Thanks before

Regards,
Ferry

All you need is in http://www.nd.edu/~e...sign/ginger.pdf but you already have that article, I suppose. The mass balance on page 5 gives you the most valuable info.

Thanks a lot Joerd.
You right, actually I already have that article and I am planning to design the extractor base on the condition
on page 5, with different flow rate. Sorry I was wrongly write down the condition before,
I mean the condition is 65 C and 127 bar like on the page 5 of the article.
By the way, because the pressure on the extractor is very high,
I am planning to use pressure vessel as an extractor.
But I don't know the inside of the extractor which is used on pilot scale or in industrial plants are
empty like common vessel or it needs some special design. Thank you for your information

Regards,
Ferry
