dear all,

I am currently designing a flocculation tank as a part of water treatment process for a gasification plant. The treated water has to be potable. I was looking all over internet to find the suitable dosage and found out that the added range of municipal water system is usually between 6-120ppm of alum (from certain gardening site). Can someone confirm the value? Please let me know the source as well.

thank you very much guys

regards, bernath

Hi Kanankiri

About your question for suitable dosage of aluminum sulfate, this is specific of your design and this is determined by jar test with the additive.

The attached pdf file will clarify about jar test.

I think that share a little bit of information will increase your knowledge.

Good luck with your design.
