Does anyone know how much hydrogen can a PEM and an alkaline electrolyzer produce? What type should I use for a large-scale hydrogen production, their advantage and disadvantage? And also, what are the required operating conditions for these two types? Thanks.

Well, first I want to ask if it is necessary to produce hydrogen that way for you. If not, you can always try to read more about the standard hydrogen production process in Ullmann's Encyclopedia or Kirk-Othmer Encyclopedia. Since hydrogen is largely produced by other means (from methane mostly) you could check AGA, INDURA and others.

If you have access to elsevier papers from your university, you might want to read this:

Which talks very much about what you are asking for.
