I am trying to calculate compositions from a 3 phase flash. having basically benzene cumene toluene Ebenzene caprolactum and water.

 

problem is the initial guesse for kai and kbi and vapor phase fugacity coefficient calculations any suggestion to get these would help.

 

moreover. I am finding it difficult to converge the equations using solver in excel using summ xai- summ yi=0 and summ xbi -1 =0. They give diff results.

Any suggestions will help.

 

i got the foll 3 equation using the OMB and ICMB and Kai=yi/xai Kbi=yi/xbi

 

xai =zi/(La/f(1-Kai)+lb/f(Kai/Kbi-Kai)+Kai

 

xbi =zi/(Lb/f(Kbi/Kai-Kbi)+la/f(1-Kbi)+Kbi

 

yi =zi/(La/f(1/Kai-1)+Lb/f(1/Kbi-1)+1

 

I am using Redlich Kwong EOS and NRTL for liquid phase.

Temperature is 140C Pressure 500mmHg
