Steam Out Nozzle Connection

dear all

 

is there any criteria for putting steam out nozzle connection on the vessel?

can steam out nozzle be placed on the shell of vessel?

The criteria shall be to have it on oppsite side of vent nozzle & being a steam connection it is better to provide at vessel bottom.

As an add on lease remember, the vessel should be designed for FV in case you are envisaging steam out requirement.

Hi,

 

Steam out connection with minimum size of 1-1/2" is normally be located a min distance above the bottom head's seam of vertical vessels and on the side/head of horizontal ones...

i dont know the procedure of drum washing with steam in this kind of tank. can you help me?

Well curious thats for proper & efficient purging, just consider steam or nitrogen flow path for a horizontal cylindrical vessel in case these nozzles are provided on same side of vessel.

Makes sense. My mental model was tall vertical tanks and here it ought to not matter much.
