Dear all,

Currently I am design fire water system for vertical storage tank.

Tank height is 14 m with diameter 18 m. please help for several issue below;

1. The proposed design is provide water spray ring adjacent to top of tank with 40 ea spray nozzle.

    is there any code or standard for detail assembly of spray nozzle related to determine distance from spray       nozzle to tank shell ?

2. The spray system is dry system, which activated by manual valve in the event of fire.

    my client request to install automatic vent at downstream of manual valve.

    i already looking for some reference related to automatic vent, but no standard that recommended it.

    its there any engineering practice for justification related to installation of automatic vent?

 (for information, the proposed design is using D3 Tyco water spray K factor 5.6 gpm/psi^0.5)

many thanks for the advise..

Regards,

Eka
