Hello Everyone!!
I need to determine the insulation thickness for my storage tank which contains Bitumen at 150 C. There is a bottom heating coil arrangement given inside the tank for heating Bitumen. However the thickness of tank is not constant. At bottom, shell thickness is 14 mm and as it goes up it get reduced to 6 mm. I also referred old posts regarding the same topic and found this information from Ankur Sir very useful "Download the insulation and pipe heat loss calculation software from the North American Insulation Manufacturer's Association (NAIMA) website"
I downloaded this software and calculated for Tank Shell- horizontal. Although I got my calculation report but I have following doubts:
1. Does it take care of varying shell thickness?
2. I am not able to find my insulation material rockwool in the given drop down list, how should i relate or select the material from that list only?
3. What Efficiency can be considered as optimum to decide the minimum required thickness?
