Respected Engineers,
Though Designing Heat Exchanger need years of practice to master for young engineers like me find ourselves out of study materials. After the graduate school & joining a company I faced a period when there were too much gape in hand calculation & design software. What I mean is that when I tried to solve it by hand calculation I found myself overburdened with equations. On the other hand in simulation software I faced problems regarding "what value is important to analyze.
Now my work procedure is
# Simulate the exchanger in HYSYS..( Check if is it really possible to transfer heat. It does not show any error for unreal data.)
# Find the basic Heat Transfer Coefficient from GPSA or literature.
# Design Excel sheet created by me to get the heat Transfer coefficient & velocity (If I have time)
# Transfer the HYSYS to Aspen EDR and design it in design mode. (Give me basic geometry by minimizing cost)
# Transfer the geometry to HTRI to do final sizing & documentation in design & rating mode.
