Dear all,
I want to calculate the amount of time it takes to reduce the temperature of a stainless steel cylinder (D=2", L=20") which is filled with water from 80°C to 60°C at an ambient temperature of 24°C.
I'm struggling with Newton's Cooling Law and the natural convection correlations. I calculate the convection coefficient to be h = 2390 W/m2K. When I use this in newton's cooling law my result is that the delta T of 20 degrees is achieved within 0+ seconds. What am I missing or doing wrong?
Thanks already for your help!
