In most simulation application software, we have these unit operations, Heat exchanger, Heater and Cooler.

Can someone explain how to manually size the Heater and Cooler?

Knowing the properties of the hot and cold fluid the Heat exchanger can be size without nervous tension.

I’m just wondering if the Heater and Cooler have different method and formula to determine the Q, LMTD, and the A (surface Area).

Could it be I am missing something? I need clarification on these please.

Thanks
