We have one naptha stabilizer column.  We are separating LPG at the top section and naptha at the bottom.  This column has two reboilers.  One reboiler tap is taken after the bottom tray.  Another one at the column sump...can anyone explain .. why this is so.

one reboiler heating source kerosene pump around

second reboiler light gas oil pump around

Why not give it more thought, and offer your reasoning. Then you should get useful comments.

Why don't they design the column with one reboiler instead of two .... what is the reason behind this?

It seems that in your case the necessity to have a heat sink for two streams was driving the design: heat sink for Kerosene, and heat sink for LGO pumparound. This would not be possible to achieve in a single exchanger/reboiler. It is not a common design, but since Kerosene and LGO come at different temperatures from the main CDU tower, it is not possible for them to have the feed from the same column tray.

thanks mr. Zauberberg..

my doubt is, if they design one reboiler, in this case chance of vapor lock at the reboiler outlet..is it so...because of lights component....
