Answer: Manganese chloride is used for the dyeing textiles, as a disinfectant, and as a component in dry cell batteries. It's also used as a catalyst for some chlorination reactions. Additionally, manganese chloride is used to produce various manganese salts including methylcychlopentadienylmanganese tricarbonyl which is in turn used as a colorant for bricks. In it's raw state, manganese chloride is a pink solid which melts at around 650 ??C (1200 ??F)
