Answer: | High efficiency feed nozzles are intended to improve the atomization of the feed oil and to spread the oil droplets evenly across the riser cross section. Feed nozzle technology is available from all of the major FCC licensors. Each of these uses a proprietary nozzle design, but all have the following features in common. 1. Multiple elevated nozzles located around the riser circumference. 2. Nozzle internals designed to atomize the feed. 3. Nozzle tips that produce a horizontal flat fan spray pattern. 4. Atomizaton and dispersion stream. The benefits from installing a modern feed nozzle system will depend on the type of feed system being replaced, the type of feed being processes and the operating conditions of your unit. Qualitatively, a decrease in catalyst delta coke, a reduction in dry gas and an increase in liquid yield should result. |
