Question: What is a good method for calculating the K-values for fatty acids?

Answer: Typically a PHC (perturbed hard chain) K-value method is used for generating the numbers you need. I would also suggest investigating the SAFT and ESD models, as they should also give good results.You may be able to calculate these coefficients with a group contribution method, but you should investigate the strengths and weaknesses of the UNIFAC method before using it.
