Question: What is a thermosiphon reboiler?

Answer: A thermosiphon reboiler is one that is situation level with the liquid in a distillation column. The head of the liquid in the column supplies the liquid to the reboiler. Typically 25-30% of the liquid is vaporizer in the reboiler. The two-phase flow is then sent back to the column where the vapor is free to rise up through the trays and the liquid drops back to the bottom of the column.
