Good morning,
I was hoping someone could help me with this problem. I need to determine the exit temperature of an aqueous solution exiting a stainless steel capillary (k = 14-17 W/mC). The solution enters at 25C at 1.2 mL/min, and the capillary is surrounded by a heater at 237C. The length of the capillary is 114.4 mm with an ID of 0.508 mm and OD of 0.810 mm. Assume physical properties of water for the solution. The flow rate is high but still laminar. I assumed that it was a simple conduction problem, but I am not sure how to calculate the amount of watts given off as heat from the heater. Once I know this, I can then calculate the exit temperature of the solution.
Thank you
