The stream 9 should be a "Recycle" stream since it is returned (recycled) to the tower as one of the product streams. On the other hand, having the stream 10 as recycle stream is not required but it shouldn't hurt you.

These are just quick observations based on the sketch you uploaded. I can't run the HYSYS file at the moment. Maybe there are some other issues - e.g. tower specs - which cause the model not to converge.

Thank you Zauber for this valuable comments i also think that the position of recycle is not optimum and i have tried to put it at stream 9 place but this makes the specification totally changed from the required one the the reflux becomes very high if i put more stress on specs anyway i will try to check again it throughly may be i am missing some thing
thanks for your suggestion

I have here HYSYS 2006.5 build 6924 and cannot open the file. You can save it as XML and upload it again.

Here is the XML file hope to hear from you soon
the required specification form the given column is 53% ethane & 28% methane from the top
and bottom specification include 33% propane and higher.
I am also making the dynamic version of this file so if you can suggest me some material from where i can study about the dynamics it would be of great help for me.

Hi Shariq,

I have converged the tower but I am unable to upload the Hysys file. I got error message "You aren't permitted to upload this kind of file" when I try to use the "Attach This File" option. Please tell me how to establish link as you did.

Actually, the only problem is your overhead condenser. If you define a cooling stream and specify pressure drop through E-100, you will get the tower converged right away.

Regards

Shan

I am also making the dynamic version of this file so if you can suggest me some material from where i can study about the dynamics it would be of great help for me.

For Dynamic simulation refer to Hysys tutorials. There is also a couple of examples available in Hysys' sample library.
I've Googled around and there is one interesting link at the Alberta University website: http://www.ualberta....micModeling.pdf

Also look at: ftp://ftp.colorado.edu/cuboulder/courses/chen4570/Boiler/HYSYSDynamicsControlTutorialSpring2005.pdf
