For a number of 1-2 shell series in series, all values of " P " of each shell pass (P1-2) are equal, but not equal to the value of
P across all N SHELLS (P N-2N).


Please provide a brief explanation regarding this ?


("P" = thermal effectiveness of heat exchanger)

Hello,
I recommend you the reading on this topic in the book title, " Chemical Process Design and Integration by R. Smith" page no 326 or the complete chapter, 'Heat Exchanger Netwrks I - Heat Transfer Equipment". Then tell us what you didn't understand.
