Hey, Could anyone help me to solve , this thermal fuse exercise. Any tips, how to approach it? File is attached

An interesting problem! I would just test different diameter wires to see when they melted, plot the results, and curve fit an equation if needed. I guess problems like this prepare the student better for thermal fuse manufacturing than the background I have. Is this from a chemical engineering course?
