Hey everone,
I've been trying to simulate a gas power plant using HYSYS. Now as you know the brayton cycle assumes constant pressure during combustion. first of all why is that? I mean when fuel burns in a confined volume (chamber), shouldn't both T and P increase? and secondly how can I make hysys to understand that the pressure increases upon combustion as this is what happens in a real case? I even tried dynamic and gave the volume in the conversion reactor I have as my combustion chamber. but the only change is in the temperature.

It depends on how you modeled it. Typically, the combustion products flow (ultimately) to a stack, so it would be a steady-state process, where the combustion reaction generates heat, the products flow away, exchange heat, and exit the stack. Temperatures are fairly constant throughout, and the pressure is defined by the pressure required to make the effluent flow to the exit.
