Hi.
Im looking for any recomendation for good books (other than kern´s) on heat transfer processes and design for self study. also i want to learn how to design evaporators, (including mechanical, heat transfer, construction, etc) I dont know a good reference to start.

I used Coulson & Richardson's Chemical Engineering Vol 1 6th Ed while I was at Uni. It's a really good book. Another is Thermodynamics by Cengel & Boles. In the UK these books would set you back about £35 each as an idea but you could probably pick them up for less somewhere.

Try these 2 books for practical aspects of thermal design of shell and tube heat exchangers as well as the interpretation of software results:
1.
Heat Transfer Design Methods
by John J. McKetta (Editor)
Hardcover: 640 pages
Publisher: Marcel Dekker (October 3, 1991)
Language: English
ISBN: 0824785185
2.
Practical Thermal Design Of Shell-and-tube Heat Exchangers
(Series in Thermal & Fluid Physics & Engineering)
by RAJIV MUKHERJEE
Hardcover: 228 pages
Publisher: Begell House Publishers (August 1, 2004)
Language: English
ISBN: 1567002056
3.
Hedh: Heat Exchanger Design Handbook 2002
by G. F. Hewitt (Editor)
Hardcover
Publisher: Begell House Publishers (June 1, 2002)
Language: English
ISBN: 1567001815
I have found the first 2 books to be useful. The 3rd book is the most expensive, but reputed to be the most comprehensive reference.
