Hello everyone,
we are trying to design several types of reboiler to strip CO2 from MEA on Aspen Exchanger Design & Rating (EDR) with the Shell&Tube module. In our research we are interested in how far the results from boiling heat transfer correlations used are matching with experimental or practical results, without having the possibility to build any reboilers.
I found some information consindering heat transfer coefficients for MEA boiling also showing some correlations compared to experimatal results. Now I'd like to know which correlation Aspen EDR uses for Shell&Tube Calculations. I found that AspenPlus uses correlations by Steiner/Taborek resp. Shah but there is a significant difference between the results of these two programs.
Can anyone give me some more information about the correlations used in Aspen EDR? If not, do you just trust the results the program gives you?
Thanks in advance for replies!
