Dear friends,

What is the difference between Antisurge and spill back? somewhere mentionened antisurge and somewhere spill back ,, I am not clear about this.

If you are talking about centrifugal or axial flow compressors, a recycle line from the compressor discharge back to the compressor suction is provided to prevent surging of the compressor at low flow rates. Such a recycle line if often called an antisurge line or a spillback line. In that context, the two terms have the same meaning.

Dear friend,

Centrifugal FEED pumps are often associated with a spill back line with a control valve. In case the receiving unit stop taking feed suddenly, the pump discharge is routed through the spill back to suction, thus keeping a minimum flow of the pump always. It is also called the minimum circulation line.
