Hi fellow engineers,

Just wanna share my experience here.

I just got the bug in aspen hysys v7.1 when try to perform simulation for acid gas (H2S and CO2) removal system. Use DBR amine package (under COMThermo) as fluid package and Li-Mather method.
There was this problem which occur when I try to decrease the pressure prior entering amine regenerator. Pressure needs to be decreased before entering the regenerator (from 95psig to 25 psig). Top column pressure is 20 psig while bottom is 22 psig.

When I insert 25 psig value to that stream (i.e. regenerator input stream), HYSYS stops responding and just frezze and won't run again, then you just have to close it. I try to debug it by adjusting the pressure. Finally, I get the lowest pressure that hysys can handle, which is 45 psig. I couldn't go lower than that value without freezing my simulation again and again.

It took me some time before I decided to change Li-Mather method into Kent-Eisenberg and finally it works well. Have you ever encounter such problem? It's weird, I haven't been able to figure it out somehow as it's been known to me that Li-Mather is better and has far more superior range compare to Kent-Eisenberg.

regards
bernath
