I am currently undertaking a basic chemical engineering thermodynamics class. As part of a certain project I need to specify the length, diameter and no. of tubes and how they should be arranged for a condenser that utilizes water. Tubes are limited to a length of 8 m and the fluid velocity must not exceed 6 m/s. Can anybody tell me how solving this works or at least point me to resources i can use.

Hi ,
Did you try the search or Download buttons on this forum ?
I've attached an xcelsheet issued by Art Montemayor .

This should help.

This almost single-handedly solved my problem with the interrelated variables, thanks.

Let you get a copy of Kern : Process heat transfer or
Coulson and Rodchardson's Vol 6 : chemical engineering design;

or use this free resource :
http://www.wlv.com/p...ok/databook.pdf

This should support your query .
